Liwa is an established educational leader, recognized in providing an accessible, high-quality, American curriculum education in the United Arab Emirates for the past three decades.

Our schools and nurseries across Al Ain and Abu Dhabi offer a challenging American curriculum education, combining the essence of Emirati values with a rich set of core competencies that produces confident, resilient and courageous young leaders.

Our students learn to develop an international mindset, grounded in local values, understanding and appreciation.   • Predicted opening of Liwa International School Al Qattara (LISQ) in Al Ain.

  • Liwa Education acquires Teddy Bear Nurseries in Abu Dhabi.

2020

  • Liwa International School is renamed Liwa International School – Falaj Hazza (LISF)

2020

  • LISF receives an ADEK inspection rating of “Very Good” placing it among the top 5 private schools in Al Ain.

2019

  • Liwa Education is established. LISM is founded in Abu Dhabi.

2018

  • LISG receives an ADEK inspection rating of ’Good’.

2018

  • LIS receives 1st place nationwide in the Red Crescent’s “Aoun” Award for Community Service.

2018

  • LIS is now home to over 2500 students and 370 staff members and has produced 691 graduates who have gone on to study at some of the world’s most prestigious universities.

2017

  • LIS receives ADEK inspection rating of ‘Good’.

2015

  • Liwa International School for Girls (LISG) begins its first academic year.

2013

  • LIS signs an MOU with the American University of Sharjah

2010

  • LIS becomes the first green and environmentally-friendly school in the UAE and receives Sheikh Khalifa Educational Award for Education and the Sustainable Environment for 2 years running.

2006

  • LIS receives His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award.

2005

  • LIS receives His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashed Al Maktoum’s Award for Distinguished Academic Performance.

1998

  • LIS receives the ISO 9001:1994, the first of its kind among schools in the Middle East. It is progressively upgraded in 2003, 2008 and 2018.

1992

  • Liwa Private School is established with 60 registered students in its first year. It is then renamed Liwa International School (LIS).

2022
